Step Outside with PSHA Networking Hikes for Members

Two guided morning hikes led by experienced hiking guides David and Renè of Hike Local Palm Springs.Think of it as a new layer to our professional community: conversation, connection, and the chance to meet new colleagues while moving through some of the most striking desert scenery in the valley.We have scheduled two Networking Hikes: a beginner-friendly nature walk and an intermediate challenge, each limited to a small group to keep the experience personal. It’s a new take on PSHA networking, and a great excuse to start the day feeling energized.Each hike is limited to 20 PSHA Members or Members' staff.

    PSHA Hiking Mixer – Intermediate Level Hike

    Take your morning up a notch by joining David and Renè, experienced hiking guides from Hike Local Palm Springs as they lead you along one of their favorite routes—the north end of the South Lykken Trail. This intermediate hike offers steady climbing, sweeping valley views, and that deeply satisfying “earned it” feeling at the finish. With experienced local guides setting the pace, you’ll move confidently through the terrain while learning about the desert’s plants, wildlife, and natural history.

    This hike is exclusively for PSHA Members and their staff, limited to 20 participants, and completely free. Expect fresh air, great conversation, and a solid, energizing workout—plus a chance to connect with fellow members in a relaxed, outdoor setting.
    If you’re ready for something a step beyond an easy nature walk—and you want a morning that leaves you truly energized—reserve your spot early.

    Parking:
    If you are driving, park on the street along Mesquite Ave. near the intersection with Belardo where you will probably see other parked cars.  Just a heads-up that parking is not allowed on the last block of Mesquite leading up to the trailhead.  And please make sure to NOT park in the parking lot at the Tahquitz Visitors Center as they tow cars from that lot pretty quickly!

    What to Know

    • Bring plenty of water (at least one large bottle per person).
    • Apply sunscreen—yes, even in the morning—and wear sunglasses.
    • Wear hiking or athletic shoes with socks. (No sandals; they’re not safe for trail terrain.)
    • Dogs are not permitted on most Palm Springs trails per city regulations, so please leave pets at home.

    PSHA Hiking Mixer – Beginner-Level Hike

    If you’ve been wanting to try a hike—or just want a morning that feels great—this is the perfect one to join.

    Join David and Renè the experienced hiking guides from Hike Local Palm Springs for a relaxed, beginner-friendly walk through Oswit Canyon. This easy “nature hike” is designed to be comfortable, confidence-building, and enjoyable, with plenty to see along the way—including native plants, cacti, and local wildlife.

    It’s a wonderful chance to stretch your legs, get fresh air, and connect with fellow PSHA Members in a low-pressure, genuinely fun setting. Space is limited to 20 participants, and it’s free for PSHA Members and their staff.

    Meeting Location: 2925 S Palm Canyon Dr, Palm Springs, CA 92264

    Parking: Please park along South Palm Canyon Drive—between Murray Canyon Dr. and Bogert Trail. (We’ll be hiking through Oswit Canyon; this area also serves as the trailhead for the south end of the South Lykken Trail.)
